SURREY, BC – Yesterday evening, Sunday, December 3, MP Sarai held the Surrey Centre Canada 150 Community Awards at the City of Surrey. It was an exquisite ceremony in which exceptional members of the Surrey Centre community were recognized with a limited edition Canada 150 medal and for their outstanding work in Surrey. Coincidentally, there were approximately 150 guests, 31 of which were award recipients and the rest being their family and friends.
The awardees were recognized for their excellence demonstrated in the categories of: entrepreneurialism, leadership, service, law enforcement, heroism, and volunteerism. Awardees by category were as follows:

MP Sarai opened with a warm welcome and sincere message, saying, “There were many nominations and you should feel especially proud because your award was not solely a selection made by me, but a selection made by the entire community, as they were involved in submitting your nomination applications.”
He also shared that, “A beautiful part of this event is that the diversity, passion and unity within Surrey is present in the room as our awardees originate from a variety of ethnic backgrounds who are youths all the way through to seniors, they all put their heart and soul into their work, and there is a tremendous amount of support here today to show for their outstanding service in our community.”
After the awardees were honoured, MP Sarai concluded with, “It is gratifying to see this caliber of talent and commitment in all of you to make Surrey the most desirable city in the world to live and work in. I am truly proud to represent and serve you as well as this community.”
