2-19-2019

On January 27 Surrey RCMP hosted an anti-gang presentation and awareness seminar at Surrey Jamia Masjid.

The BCMA President Iltaf Sahib thanked the Surrey anti gang unit for giving support and RCMP officers to come out and conduct "Shattering The Image" session Surrey Jamea Mosque.

The session had a great turnout of young and old, male and female attendants alike. Lots of youth and parents were involved and were pleased that our RCMP officers had taken out time to come and deliver a great seminar to all of us.

BC Muslim Association's Vice-President, Imtiaz Asin, and the ladies chapter and their local young Imams were present and involved in hosting this event.

Br Iltaf Said, "I would like to take this opportunity to make a request that more similar sessions be conducted in other mosques of the BCMA as well. We also have major mosques in Richmond, Burnaby and Vancouver, and would appreciate if you allow these fine officers to present the same at our other facilities in the lower mainland.

Once again, thank you so much for having such an important and informative session for our local community. We are looking forward to more joint efforts to create awareness and counter drug related issues to safeguard our communities.”
