Pakistan Republic Day in Vancouver

Vancouver - March 23, 2019 -Consul General of Pakistan in Vancouver Muhammad Tariq hosted a Flag Hoisting Ceremony today at his Residence in Vancouver on the occasion of  79th Republic Day of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

After the Quran recitation, Vice Consul Fahad Amjad read out the messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan which was followed by the remarks of Consul General of Pakistan Muhammad Tariq.

Muhammad Tariq highlighted the recent achievements of the government, acknowledged, and sympathized with the victims of Christchurch Mosque Massacre.

In response to the recent escalation of war mongering from India,  He said, “Our foreign policies is one of the friendliest”, “Our Olive branch support to India should not be taken as our weakens.”

His message to local Pakistanis was comforting, he said, “You are lucky to have a country like Canada.” Tariq highlighted the outpouring support received from Canadians after the New Zealand Mosque shooting and said, “We need to reach out to our communities to be able to oppose reported clash of civilizations which is in fact not clash of civilizations but clash of ignorance.”

The flag Hoisting in Vancouver was part of the events held at all embassies. Raza Bashir Tarar- High Commissioner of Pakistan based in Ottawa in his address applauded the valuable support of Pakistani Canadians to Pakistan as evidenced by their generous contributions to the Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dam Fund.

The High Commissioner assured the attendees that the High Commission and its sub-missions stood ready to work with them for the achievement of common goals.

Raza Bashir Tarar stated, “All of us are fortunate to witness history in the making as Pakistan moves towards its rightful place in the comity of nations under the honest and dedicated leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.”
