Meet & Greet with Wendy Gilmour, High Commissioner of Canada to Pakistan

On Friday June 20th, Pakistan Canada Association (PCA) organized a Meet & Greet with Wendy Gilmour, High Commissioner of Canada to Pakistan. The program was held in Surrey at Village BBQ where the Pakistani Community got an opportunity to also ask Questions after her speech.

The program started with Quran recitation by Asad Gondal followed by opening remarks by Pakistan’s New vice counsellor Ayesha Malik who represented the Pakistani Consulate in Vancouver. PCA President Shaukat Khan welcomed the guests and introduced the Guest Speaker.

Appointed as High Commissioner of Canada to Pakistan in Oct 2018, Wendy Gilmour was very candid in her talks about her work in Pakistan.  She talked about developing opportunities for Canadians in Pakistan and mentioned about hydro power initiatives, Technology sectors, Educational partnerships in terms of Research, Human Developing, Social Developing, Infrastructure Development and with the new Feminists agenda Canada now has initiated more programs for educating women.  

Questions from the floor varied from Education collaboration with Universities, immigration, Students Visas, Canadians doing Business in Pakistan, Military issues and assisting immigrants with career planning in the field of their education.
