BC Muslim Schools Intra Soccer Tournament @ Newton Athletic Park on Thursday June 13, 2019

Alamdho-lillah this was our fourth successful year for the tournament, the weather was great, bright and sunny, we had four schools partaking in the tournament, namely:
Az-Zahraa Islamic Academy (AZIA)
BC Muslim School
Iqra Islamic School, and
Surrey Muslim School
The teams were dived into 2 divisions:
Division 2 - Grades four and five for boys and girls
Division 1 - Grades six and seven for boys and girls
We had a separate trophy (four) for each division winner and an annual trophy for the overall winner. The annual trophy is decided based on overall points so each school has a fair chance of winning the Championship.
The RCMP Diversity and Indigenous Peoples Unit were also present most o the day so the kids could interact with the RCMP unit.
The organizing committee is grateful for the cooperation from the students, the principals and the governing authority(s) like the BCMA, Iqra and Azia boards and our brothers and sisters from the community for their cooperation. The idea is to create a healthy rivalry and competition between our schools plus get our youth more involved into sports.
The final scores were:
Division 2
Boys - Iqra 5A = 3 and BCMS5A = 2
Girls - Iqra 5A = 1 and BCMS5A = 0
Division 1
Boys - Iqra7A = 2 and SMS7A = 1
Girls - SMS7A = 1 and Iqra7A = 0
You can see from the above scores, the matches were very competitive.

Boys Division # 1 - Iqra Islamic School - Br Bashir Ali
Boys Division # 2 - Iqra Islamic School - Br Arsalan Reayat
The champions for 2019 are: Iqra Islamic School
