Ex Indian Army Major General – “Murder for murder, rape for rape” as revenge for the 1990 Kashmiri Pandit exodus

A senior retired Indian army general has stunned everyone after he called for rape and killing of Muslim women in Kashmir as part of legitimate military tactics by Indian security forces.
Major General (retd) SP Sinha was taking part in a TV debate and in a heated argument yelled, “Maut ke badle maut. balatkaar ke badle balatkaar. (Death must be avenged by death. Rape must be avenged by rape.) I am speaking the truth.”
The anchor was repeatedly pleading to Sinha to not make such comments. ‘Please, nahi sir, you can’t say this.” But the Indian general was unstoppable and continued his call for raping of Kashmiri women. When some panelists in the debate objected he turned his attention to the members of the audience and sought their approval. What is even more shocking is the support he got from some members of the audience during Hindi news channel TV9 Bharatvarsh’s panel discussion.
Major General SP Sinha, who is now a member of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party is clearly seen as advocating for war crimes. Sinha in the past has also been accused of using rape as a strategy. In 1991, he called for ‘creating a new breed for Punjab’ and assembled Sikh villagers in a locality when the Indian military was crushing the Sikh movement in Punjab.
In 2004, Thangjam Manorama was taken out of her home by the military forces and was raped, torturerd and found dead on the next day morning, with multiple injuries on her body.
According to 1996 Human Rights Watch report, India uses rape as a “counter-insurgency tactic” in Indian Occupied Kashmir to terrorize the populace. Earlier this year, a Bharatiya Janata Party leader was removed from her position after she encouraged “Hindu brothers” to gang-rape Muslim women openly in the streets.
The Indian army has not made any statement on Sinha’s revelation on what he described as a military tactic.
