US Rapper Akon Performs Umrah

Famous American singer and rapper Akon was recently in Saudi Arabia for a music tour in Dammam. After the tour he performed Umrah.
The 46-year old went to Makkah reportedly with his family and was seen in Ehram – the mandatory dress for the pilgrimage.
Not known to many, Akon’s family is partly Muslim as he was born into a black-Muslim family in St Louis on April 16, 1973. The US-Senegalese singer and rapper, real name Aliaune Thiam, disclosed that Islam is the only key to success. The popular singer who has many tracks in English to himself said in an interview, “The reason behind my success is faith on Almighty Allah and by following Islam.”
Pictures and videos that are surfacing on social media are surprising people, in which the singer is performing different rituals of the Umrah including Tawaf.
