CMMC holds awareness campaign on India's Citizen Amendment Act Resolution to be presented in New West City Council on March 30th

On Wednesday March 11th, Canadian Muslim Media Club held a information session about the upcoming resolution that will be presented in the NewWest City Council.
The resolution will be presented by NewWest City Councillor Chuck Puchmayr which will address the draconian and divisive Citizen Amendment Act and the National Registration Act, which became law December 11 2019, and clearly discriminates against Muslims.
CMMC President took the initiative to Invite Chuck Puchmayr and thank him for highlighting the issue here locally.
CMMC requests the community to contact the New West city Councillors and raise the issues with them inorder to gain support for the resolution.
If passed New West will become the secound City to pass such resolution after Seatle.

Dear Mayor Jonathan X. Coté and Councillors,
I Am writing to you as a Concerned Canadian on behalf of the many who are going to be affected by a resolution passed in the Indian Parliament. The CAA along with the NPR and NRC are discriminatory and goes against our Canadian values of inclusiveness for all- no matter what race, religion, gender or denomination we belong and identify ourselves as.
I humbly request you to pass the resolution put forward by Councillor Chuck Puchmayr to show our solidarity with the millions who will loose their citizenship and will be put into concentration camps on the basis of their religion in India.
