11-19-2014

BCMA Women’s Youth and Sports Director Rozemeen Khan, Tahzi Ali, Secretary for the Board of Women’s Affairs and the VP’s of Youth and Sports Imtiaz Asin and Irshad Siddeeq hosted the first Sisters Indoor Soccer Tournament at Queen Elizabeth Secondary on Saturday November 15, 2014.

All Praise is due to Allah for making this day successful for everyone involved.  With so many sports events hosted for brothers, this was ground breaking for sisters to now start having their own sports events.  The sisters experienced sisterhood, made connections, friendship and had fun in an Islamic, halal setting.  This tournament brought generations of families together.  Faith and sports can go together!

There were 8 teams that participated with a total of 74 players.  The teams were very diverse ranging from an all youth team, UBC students to mother daughter teams.  The energy from the spectators was electric while our mascot Rabia Mohammed kept the crowd energized.
