SHOW AND SHINE IN SURREY

On Sunday May, 31 Shaykh Oves and Shaykh Anees of Darul Qur’an Institute of Islamic Studies hosted the fi rst ever, “Show & Shine” event for families in the Muslim community. The event was held at the Madrasah’s location in Surrey. Owners and enthusiasts brought out their vehicles of pride and joy to display and meet community members who shared their passion for fine automobiles and motorcycles in an Islamic environment.
The Surrey Fire Department participated by bringing 2 fire trucks and the Surrey RCMP also came with a police cruiser. The young ones had a good time trying on the fi reman gear, sitting in the fire truck and police cruiser! There was also a bouncy castle for the kids to enjoy and release their energy! The attendees had a chance to have delicious Halaal burgers, fries, drinks and baked items. We also had a special ice cream van with cool treats! Alhamdulillah we all prayed Dhuhar Salaah together and discussed the importance and rewards of praying Salaah. A huge thanks to all the owners of the vehicles and motorcycles, the Surrey Fire Department, the Surrey RCMP, volunteers and to all the families and individuals who attended. May Allah reward everyone for making this a successful event!
