The race to be the Next President of United states

7-26-2016

We better get used to saying President Trump. Whether or not the yet to be President Donald Trump can compel Canada and Mexico to pay for the wall that he plans to build to safeguard America is a whole different question.  However, with each passing day it is becoming clear that Hillary Clinton is in this race to lose and Trump to win!

If DNC has any indication as to how divided the Democrats are among Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders supporters who feel being robbed and cheated by their own party for rigging the nomination process in favor of Clinton over Sanders. A serious effort is being carried out by the party leadership to "Unite" the two fighting factions, while doing some "face saving" over leaked email which seriously questions the integrity of nomination process within the Democratic Party.

CNN reported that, "And even on the convention floor, signs of discord were everywhere. One Clinton supporter, for example, got embroiled in an argument with a woman supporting Sanders, who had blue tape over her mouth reading "Silenced by the DNC." Another Sanders delegate wearing a Marine Corps cap took a swing at a Clinton delegate before Secret Service officers broke up the fracas." It is clear the party for the Democrats and Clinton's is over before even it started.

Comedian Sarah Silverman chastised booing Sanders fans during her remarks Monday. "To the 'Bernie or bust' people, you're being ridiculous," Silverman said.

Even Bernie Sanders, during his speech at DNC in Philadelphia had to persuade his supporters to bury the hatchet, "Our job is to do two things -- to defeat Donald Trump and to elect Hillary Clinton," Sanders said, adding later, "It is easy to boo, but it is harder to look your kids in the face if we are living under a Trump presidency."

This despite the fact that a leaked email within Democrats higher echelon had pretty much favored Clinton over sanders for nomination. Later, the party officially apologized to Bernie Sander and his supporters.

"On behalf of everyone at the DNC, we want to offer a deep and sincere apology to Sen. Sanders, his supporters, and the entire Democratic Party for the inexcusable remarks made over email," the statement said. "These comments do not reflect the values of the DNC or our steadfast commitment to neutrality during the nominating process. The DNC does not -- and will not -- tolerate disrespectful language exhibited toward our candidates. Individual staffers have also rightfully apologized for their comments, and the DNC is taking appropriate action to ensure it never happens again."

Donald Trump on the other hand took full advantage, capitalized on the infighting within the Democrats and tweeted, "While Bernie has totally given up on his fight for the people, we welcome all voters who want a better future for our workers."

That is exactly what is happening on the ground. Disgruntle Democrats, especially Bernie Sander's supporters are switching sides to teach their party and especially the Clinton's a lesson, and if DNC does not get a handle on this, the resentment will grow favoring Trump over Clinton.

On Election Day, Hillary Clinton and the Democrats will have no one to blame except themselves for Trump's inevitable victory.

During the nomination process we had dedicated an entire editorial on how flawed the Democrats nomination process was, and based on media reports we had already anticipated Clinton's victory and Sander's defeat for the top position.

Just as the "Special Delegates" which is only limited to the Democratic Party, ruined Bernie Sander's chances of victory, so will the college electorate votes will for Hillary Clinton and the Democrats.

Simply stated, unlike the Canadian/British democratic system, First one Past The Post (FPTP), the one with the most seats, even if it is by one seat only, is given the chance to form the government, even if that meant forming a minority government. U.S. election process of choosing the president is much more complex if not convoluted. US election process is based on "Electoral Votes."

Electoral Votes that is making Clinton, Democrats and Democrats supporters very nervous about Trump's inevitable victory.

One poll puts Clinton at 53.5% support well below 80% just few months ago, to Trump trailing her at 46.5% support. However, in terms of electoral votes its merely ten votes, and in U.S. Elections, it is the Electoral Votes that matter. Ten Votes are not a huge margin and enough to hit the panic button, if you are in Clinton camp, and everything to gloat about if you are a Trump supporter.

Mr. Trump is a showman and he knows how to garner attention, what to say, when to say it and how to say it. Although he may act goofy and seem idiotic, we cannot ignore the fact that he managed to beat out his opponent’s one by one, most of them seasoned politicians, some State Governors, other Senators, including Mr. Jeb Bush -Former Governor of Florida, Brother of former President George Bush and of course Son of a former President.

One of such so-called stupid acts which propelled his chances to the victory within the Republican Party's nomination was his assertion about closing the doors to Muslims to safeguard America. It is this promise or threat the world needs to be concerned with, as he seemed like a wing nut who would do anything and everything to gain attention and to make sure he remains in the spot light.

Whatever the outcome may be, from the looks of it, it seem as we should all be preparing for the worst, and hope for the best. Although what may seem to be the best is not the greatest, it is at least the lesser of two evils.
