Shaukat Khanum Hospital Fundraising Dinner In Vancouver

Vancouver, Canada. On Friday November 11th 2016, Cancer Education and Research Foundation based out of  Toronto, Organized a Special Evening in Aid of Shaukat Khanum Memorial hospital. The event was held at the Taj Park Convention Centre in Surrey.

Pakistan Canada Association coordinated the fundraising dinner in lower mainland. About 300 guests attended the event. 

Wally Oppal Former Attorney General of BC was the Guest of Honour. Wally encouraged the audience to donate Generously towards the cause. He stated, "We need to band together as a family and promote our values as Canadians, Let’s give Money to this Hospital.”

Herb Dhaliwal former Minister under the Jean Chretien Government said he was honored to be there.  He thanked the people for attending the event and asked the Pakistani Community to support the cause.

Former MP Jinny Sims, MLA  Sue Hummel, Randeep Sarai MP, Ken Hardie MP also graced the event.

A special Video was played with a message from Imran Khan, Chairman, Board of Governors of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust. Imran Khan's message was clear for the audience that Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust is striving not just to enhance its capacity to treat more poor cancer patients but also to continuously upgrade its existing services. He also mentioned the need to open another project in Karachi and the expansion of the Lahore Hospital would double the capacity at the current site. He Thanked the audience for their generous support. 

The Fundraiser grossed about $65,000.

The event concluded with a live performance by a Pakistani folk and sufi singer Sanam Marvi.
