Kamloops Residents show Solidarity with Quebec Mosque Victims

Since the mosque attack in Quebec City on January 29th, In every small to large, town and city, people from all walks of life and faiths are coming out in support of their Muslim brothers and sisters.

On Friday February 3rd, at Ayesha Mosque, Kamloops, British Columbia 100 hundreds attended to show their solidarity with the Muslim community of Kamloops.

Among the Dignitaries were Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Honourable Suzanne Anton.Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure and Minister of Emergency Management, Honourable Todd Stone, City of Kamloops Mayor, Honourable Peter Milobar.

For the first time in the history of the Kamloops Mosque, it was very obvious that they had more non-Muslims present inside the mosque than Muslims.

Despite the snow fall and non-ideal road conditions, Ayesha Mosque was packed with over 250 attendees to honour the six Canadian-Muslims who lost their lives in the Quebec Mosque attack.

Br Faisal Siddiqui, President of The Kamloops Muslims Association said, “For a very small Muslim community like ours in Kamloops the level of support we have received from different faiths and elected officials, is Unprecedented.”
