Sri Lankan Islamic Foundation thanks Canadians for standing in solidarity after the horrific mosque shooting in Quebec City.

3-07-2017

On behalf of the Muslim Community in Canada, volunteers of Sri Lankan Islamic Foundation had organized an event to thank all those who supported and stood by in solidarity after the horrific mosque shooting in Quebec City.

The event was held in front of the Art Gallery (800 block Robson Street) on Sunday the 26th February 2017 between 12.30pm to 5.00pm.

Every note of condolence and the flowers sent to the mosques were to every one of us.  It is time to be thankful.

This was a very successful event and Public’s acceptance was overwhelming.  They enjoyed the food and the hospitality and most of them were engaged in fruitful conversations with the group.

Some of the comments were:
“Very important and fruitful event and thank you!”

“A fantastic event. It’s a immeasurable community service.   Thumbs up!”

“An outstanding demonstration of signature event! The interaction with the public the way they received was lovely…”

“This is Love over Fear.  Well done! It was fun and the soup was yummy too”

“Thank you for your very kind and thoughtful invitation to the event on Sunday afternoon!  We appreciate you extending your hand in friendship in this way.  Blessings to you as your faith community continues to heal from the tragic events in Quebec City. We appreciate your partnership in the pursuit of peace.
