Mother Daughter event at MYC

The Muslim Youth Centre had their 1st annual sold out Mother and Daughter High Tea on Sunday, May 14, 2017. The program was started by the recitation of a Quranic verse as well as the English translation. This was followed by all sisters reciting the National Anthem of Canada. VanAbaya by Sister Safa Shehadeh did a fashion show with models who were mothers and daughters wearing abayas and hijabs. The makeup was done by Sister Uzma from Motives. The girls did a play on Love You Forever by Robert Munsch. Every mother and daughter were given a chocolate box made by Simply Beautiful Gifts.
The MYC honoured a mother and daughter from the community. MYC recognized Sister Nasima Samut and her daughter Sister Fatima Samut for their extraordinary work and dedication in the community for the past 30 years. They were presented with a certificate and gift from Sister Zuleika Husain and Sister Kaniza Ishmail; MYC Directors.
Catering was done by Gulberg Restaurant. We would like to thank our sponsors for their lovely gifts. There were a few vendors showcasing their items and a henna artist was on site to apply henna.
