'Excellent Solidarity'

8-09-2017

The real sign of solidarity was shown at the Demo-Rally at the Art Gallery on 28th July, against the violence and ill treatment of Palestinian people.

The wonderful speakers from different religious background and organizations presented their concern for the human rights abuses, and oppression of Palestinian people.

The concerned speakers included Sister Maria Atherton a pro-Palestine activist writer, freelance Journalist and a member of Canadian Palestine Asso., Br. Hanna Kawas most prominent active Chairman of CPA., Rev. Marianna Harris of United Church Social activist working towards peace with justice in Israel & Palestine-and to end Israel occupation, Rabi David, Br. Musa Ismail of BCMA, Sid Shniad of national steering committee member of Independent Jewish Voices, and Br. Mohammad Kallas.

Unbelievable gruesome tragedies being reported.

"Tens of thousands of Palestinians have been repeated bombarded by tear gas bombs, physical force, brutalized and terrorized by the Zionist military".

Daily killings, fascist brutality, false imprisonment of children, women, men and the sick".

"Over the last few weeks more than 700 Palestinian children have been arrested by the Israeli occupation forces, more than 1000 Palestinian civilians in and around Al Aqsa Mosque have been injured and some killed.

"The Imam of Al Aqsa was shot on July 18 after evening prayers by Israeli Occupation Forces.

Al Aqsa is the third most Holy site to Muslims, which is under Jordanian custodian and a revered holy site for Christians and Jews alike.

Many more Interfaith Human Rights Groups are protesting against the Palestinian tragedies.

Such activists reminds us of BESA the Muslims who saved Jews in WWII, and the most remarkable work of Human Rights pro-Palestinian Freedom Flotilla Coalition group captured and their horrendous sufferings, mainly the captured a former NDP MP Jim Manly a senior who endured the sufferings by the Israeli authority and said: "We are committed to non-violence, and to raising the illegal siege of Gaza". Most of the such H.R. groups are non-violent and peace keepers.

Though, the tragedy of violence from the opposition is never ending.

"The Church's stand on this issue reflects its overall commitment to progressive values. Opposition to the Israeli occupation is mounting in the ranks of increasing numbers of progressive organizations around the world, among people of a range of religious denominations, as well as those whose motivation for being involved in the Palestine solidarity movement is a strictly secular commitment to social justice".

There is a long line of such activist groups. Who are proving the real solidarity, pluralism, and secularism and true religion.
