AYLA: The Daughter of War - Turkey’s Oscar nominee film AYLA Screening at Burnaby's Michael J. Fox theatre

The Korean and Turkish Consulates, and the City of Burnaby, held a special screening by invitation of Turkey's Oscar nominee film AYLA on March 28, 2018 at Michael J. Fox theatre in Burnaby.
Present at the screning were The Consul General of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Gunn Kim & The Consul General of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Anil Bora Inan, with the gracious sponsorship by The Mayor of Burnaby Mr. Derek Corrigan.
"Ayla: The Daughter of War" is a Turkish film based on the true story of a sergeant from the Turkish Brigade during the Korean War who saves a young Korean girl who he names Ayla. This film was Turkey’s submission to the 2018 90th Academy Awards. The event was an opportunity for the community of the Lower Mainland to view the film and experience an emotionally compelling, true story about the Korean War.
