Abu Bakr Islamic Centre Fundraiser

On April 7th Abu Bakr Islamic Centre held a memorable Fundraiser at Crystal York in Surrey. For the first time ever BC’ers got a chance to hear one of the most admirable Qurra Shaykh Saad Noman.
Saad Nomaani, also known as Sheikh Muhammad Saad Nomani Madani Shahid Khalil Nomani is a reciter of the Qur'an who is known for his unique ability to render the recitation of the Quran in a manner recited by many world famous reciters, or qaris, of the world.
A qari is one who recites verses or chapters from the Qur'an in a rhythmic manner under strict rules of articulation and recitation. Nomani can read in more than 85 qaris and imams including the imams of the two Holy Mosques of the Muslim world in Makkah and Madinah.
Imran Yakub – President of the Centre stated that “we are so blessed to have the presence of such an eminent Qari in our Fundraiser.”
Just before his visit Many brothers like Br. Naveed Waraich through his network help raise the awareness of the program of the sheikhs visit. Vancouverites flocked from all areas just to hear the sheikh recite. About 1000 people attended the event with the children and women.
To grace the occasion the audience was enthralled to see another familiar face in BC. Sheikh Ahmed Shehab who frequently travels for good causes around the world conducted the fundraiser.
The centre has an outstanding Karz e hasna –interest free loan of about $940K. Br Imran stated “Alhamdulillah, we are pleased to announce that with the mercy of Allah and your duas, the total from our fundraising event is $150,000. This includes donations and pledges. Jazakumullah khair to everyone who participated and helped out.”
The centre has obtained is charitable status and donations can be made thru their online website at abubkar.ca.
May Allah subhanahu wata’ala accept the efforts of the Management.
