Why isn’t Alec Minassian being called a Terrorist

5-02-2018

The Toronto Van attack is not being called a terrorist act because the attacker is not Muslim, although Alec Minassian intentionally terrorized Torontonians.

Alexandre Bissonnette who pleaded guilty for the murder of the six men at Quebec Mosque last year, says that he is not a terrorist or an Islamophobe. Nikolas Cruz who recently shot 17 people at high school in Florida is a white supremacist inspired by Donald Trump. But he is not called a Terrorist.  Nirmal Singh Gill was murdered by 5 white supremacist skinheads at the Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Surrey 20 years ago, the where not called terrorists either.

John Nuttal and Amada Korody who are new converts to Islam where after being entrapped and charged with terrorism by the RCMP because they were Muslim and then acquitted by the BC Supreme Court. The BC Crown Council is currently appealing that ruling.

Soldiers of Odin disrupted the annual International Day Against Racism and Bigotry March again this year held on Saturday March 24 at Thornton Park again. But again, like last year the Vancouver Police Department didn’t stop them nor arrest them leaving the rally attendees venerable. The VPD allowed the Soldiers of Odin to attack the rally last year’s march as well. They were finally restrained after the crowd yelled at them and hand cuffed but were then released just as the rally was wrapping up allowing them to harass the protestors as they were leaving the march.

White Americans are the biggest terror threat in the United States, according to a study by the New America Foundation. The Washington-based research organization did a review of “terror” attacks on US soil since Sept. 11, 2001 and found that most of them were carried out by radical anti-government groups or white supremacists. Yet our lawmakers and law enforcers don’t see don’t treat white supremacist as serious terrorists threat.

There is evidence that Alec Minassian is a misogynist like Marc Lepine who gunned down 14 women, who was also not called a terrorist. Should misogyny be considered for what it to be called and act of terrorism? Had Alec Manassian been Muslim, this attack would be called and act or terrorism without question. This is an insidious form or Islamophobia.
