Women Council celebrates Eid with Sisters.

Women Council celebrated the Eid happy day on June 29 at the Riverside Signature Banquet Hall in Surrey. It was no surprise that it was a sold-out event and the diversity of sisterhood was very much present. The event was elegant but simple and the hall was full with cultural mosaic of beautiful dresses, abayas, and ethnic fashions.
It was the first time that the Women’s Council presented the Life Member Awards to the female members of the BCMA. In the last 5 years, 26 members were nominated by the Women’s Branches and Chapters. The members present received complimentary tickets to the Dinner. They were presented with an Award by the Chair, Sr Amara Asin. Recognition of this Award was very much appreciated and accepted by these senior volunteers who have contributed 20 plus years of service to BCMA. Congratulations to all the Life Members and thank you for your commitment and dedication to BCMA.
It was beautiful to hear the recitation of the Quran by a sister and some by our young children. The Eid song “Eidun Saeed”by Maher Zain was beautifully sung by a child to enhance the celebration.
The sumptuous Dinner was very much appreciated and enjoyed by sisters followed by a very beautiful Fashion Show by the fashion designer, Safa of Vanabaya. The audience was entertained by a Comedian and we also enjoyed the Vendors who showcased their products and many ladies ventured on the shopping spree to get some deals. Thank you to all the Sponsors who contributed towards this event.
This event would not have been possible without the hard work of the Women’s Council and the Volunteers. Thank you!
