PIA Muslim staff returns £7,500 to passenger who left it in the aircraft

8-22-2018

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is commonly in the news for the wrong reasons and those who use the airlines often say negative things about it. However, here’s a heartwarming and most definitely positive story.

The airline staff at Heathrow airport returned £7,500 cash to a passenger who was travelling to London from Lahore as reported by Geo News.

As the passengers left the aircraft, one of the passengers forgettably left his purse in the aircraft and went towards the immigration. A member of the staff found the purse.

The honest staff members handed over the purse with the cash to Sajid Ullah Khan, the PIA station manager. The passenger was travelling on PK757 to London.

The PIA Station Manager then confirmed that the cash amount was returned to the passenger. He said:

“We managed to contact the passenger and returned his cash to him. I personally returned his money.

He was very thankful to the PIA staff for being honest. We are glad that we were able to find the lost cash of our passenger.

We often get mentioned negatively but it’s important to project that our staff is honest and work hard.”

The passenger, who is a businessman from Lahore, was travelling to London on a business trip.

He confirmed that his cash was returned to him.

“I am thankful to the PIA staff for returning cash to me.”

Such an example of showing integrity, trustworthiness and an ethical behaviour is all from the teachings of Islam. It is said in the Quran (4:58):

“Verily! Allah commands that you should render back the trusts to those, to whom they are due, excellent is that which Allah instructs you. Indeed, Allah is ever Hearing and Seeing.”
