Surrey Masjid Hosts Community Appreciation Day

On Sunday September 2 -2018 BCMA Surrey East Branch hosted a grand BBQ for the community. The entry was complimanetary by the Masjid Committee to appreciate the members for their contribution to the masjid and the community at large.
It was a day to celebrate the Diversity within the community and get to know and network with many new arrivals.
Everyone was welcome to join the event from Zuhr to Asr salat.
There were also demonstration for activities happening at the Masjid, for example, weekend school, Masjid Madrasa, weekly programs at the Masjid and registration for weekend school as well.
Br Asad Gondal - Chair of the Branch said in statement, “I would like to take a moment to thank all those who came out and we hope you had a wonderful afternoon, with not only us, but the community as well.
I highlighted three main points in the beginning of the event which I will briefly go over again.
1) This is only through the will of Allah SWT and that we have built a connection with His house. When we have a connection to His house, His connection is strengthened with us. The most important thing is Tawaqul in Allah and then our efforts may come after. The purpose of this event was to reconnect with the House of Allah. As long we had this connection; we had power, we had strength, and we could overcome any obstacle.
2) We must maximize our community resources, our services, and grow stronger with unity. It all comes back to our unity as an Ummah. We live in such a strong and vibrant community with hardworking Muslims that have earned their success. We must further take this bond, this connection we have with them, and tie that connection with the House of Allah.
3) Insha’Allah, our Masjid’s weekend school will be getting extended hours, with enhanced programs that will provide better insights into Tarbiyah and Islaah (Character building and Reformation).
To conclude, I humbly thank all that joined us today. We may just have had one drop of rain today, however, when the rain falls, it showers.
It was an honor serving you, being with you, and catering to you and we hope to do it again very soon in the future.”
