Face mask and a hijab hack during Covid-19

Wearing of face mask is, or has been mandatory now in many parts of Canada with surge in Covid-19 cases across the nation.

However, if you are a Muslim woman wearing a Hijab( Head Covering In Muslim religion) it could be used for dual purpose amid pandemic.

A Vancouver/ Surrey resident, 32- year old Shaheen Begum, came up with an idea to use the loop at the end of the hijab to replace the mask in order to cover her face to comply with the Provincial health order.

She said" Its one thing less to carry in your bag and many times we forget mask at home, and this way I don't have to worry about not having one".

"I use hijab covering as mask replacement for shopping and other activities where its mandatory. And I am totally comfortable with that"

The former Ba Fiji, resident, who migrated to Canada in 2013 expresed her pride and joy in wearing hijab for the past 10 years and planning to continue wearing in the future.

She also said that, Hijab also comes In handy during Canada's cold climate covering hair keeping free frost and cold.

If you’re a hijab-wearing woman, wearing a mask that’s normally fixed behind the ears can be a problem, but someone like Shaheen, has come up with a fashionable solutions now.

There are so many hijab-wearing women working in healthcare so really providing them an idea that could allow them to be the best version of themselves while working and wearing Hijab.
