#BoycottLiberals: Time to Ditch the Liberals

Canadian Muslims need to take a page from the American Muslims when voting in the next federal elections. They need to unshackle themselves from the mental slavery and dependency on the Liberal party as the only guardian and defenders of Canadian Muslim rights in Canada. Its time for the Canadian Muslims to recalibrate their political compass that would include all political parties in Canada and not just the Liberals. Canadian Muslims can no longer afford to put all their eggs in the Liberals basket anymore.
Let’s accept, Liberals have fooled Canadian Muslim voters for far too long, and its time Canadian Muslims to take a stand and tell the Liberals, “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.”
Since the turn of the millennium, and in the aftermath of American Republican led “War on Terror,” on Muslim nations. Liberals capitalized on the opportunity and have been successful in crafting a narrative to persuade the Muslim voters, projecting themselves as their only saviours by painting the Conservatives the counterparts of the American Republicans and as the anti-Muslim boogeyman, which Muslims must guard themselves against, and the only way to achieve this by voting Liberals.
This is like what the Democrats in America had also done over the years to the American Muslims. By painting the Republicans as anti-Muslims, anti-immigrants, warmongers invading Muslim lands, etc. and for that matter had cornered the American Muslim votes.
However, it took some time, but the American Muslims finally realized the truth, that they have been fooled by the Democrats all this time. That the Democrats are no different than the Republicans. They extended the Republicans initiated wars on Muslim lands, rather than ending them. Obama is credited to having the most bombs dropped during his eight years in the office than the George Bush did under his two terms.
What happened under the Biden government’s last fifteen months in the office was a wake-up call for the American Muslims. They collectively decided to cut-off their Democratic umbilical cord and send a clear message to the Republicans, American Muslims are open for business. Michigan, the Blue State, with an overwhelming Muslim population demolished the blue wall and voted Republicans. To a certain degree, it paid its dividend. About two weeks before his inauguration (January 20th) Trump demanded a ceasefire in Gaza. Lo beholds, Israel signed the ceasefire, ending the fifteen-month genocide in Gaza. A genocide which the Democrats and the Liberals supported.
In democracies, political parties respond to those who put them in power and cater to their needs.
Unfortunately, hindsight is 20/20. Let’s admit it. Over the past two decades the Liberals have craftily played the Islamophobia card to create a divide between the Canadian Muslims and their biggest political rival – The Conservatives. Thus, creating a similar wedge between the Conservatives and the Canadian Muslims which the Democrats in the United States had been able to achieve, and thankfully it is now exposed and demolished.
If we look back at number of times how the Liberals have fooled Canadian Muslim voters, the list is very long.
During 2003 Federal elections, Under PM Jean Chretien, Liberals ran ads specifically targeting Muslim voters with American tanks rolling into Iraq, where PM Chretien had taken a stand, by not sending the Canadian Military, refusing to join American “War on Terror.” This appealed to Canadian Muslims, handing the Liberals, third straight majority. Immediately after the elections, Liberals decided to join American led “War on Terror” in Afghanistan.
During 2006 federal election, Liberal PM Paul Martin, tried fooling the Muslim voters, and tried banking on their government’s refusal to send Canadian soldiers to Iraq. Fortunately, the Canadian Muslim could not be fooled, and Liberal’s majority turned into a minority government.
By 2011, Liberals had lost the trust of the Canadian Muslim voters, and had been reduced to the third-party level, as Muslims flocked to the NDP camp. NDP under Jack Layton became the official opposition.
Liberals have realized that without the Muslim voters, it could not even manage to remain an official opposition, let alone form a government.
To ensure Muslim voters remain loyal and committed to the Liberals it threatens the voters through the Conservative boogeyman by flagrantly waving the Islamophobia card.
Its time Canadian Muslims take a stand against the Liberals and their dubious tactics to alienate the Canadian Muslim voters against other political parties, which when realized Muslim voters will send a strong message that we are no longer going to be be fooled by the dubious Liberal tactics.
However, it is the Muslim voters who must show a spine and send a clear message, just as the American Muslims voted for Trump’s Republicans by freeing themselves from the clutches of Democrat’s scare tactics, we can do that in Canada as well.
Currently, there was a campaign signing up Liberal membership which ended on January 27th, 2025. The first step towards this freedom would be to send a clear message to the Liberals – WE are no longer interested in maintaining this abusive relationship with you. #BoycottLiberals
