Produced by Milo Productions Inc., the creator of Muslim Kids TV—the world’s first and largest streaming platform for Muslim children—and distributed in partnership with Fathom Entertainment, the animated feature is adapted from the popular Time Hoppers mobile game and an upcoming animated series debuting on Muslim Kids TV later in 2026. Designed for children ages 6–9, the film centers on adventure, education, and cultural pride.
Set against the rich historical backdrop of the Silk Road during the Golden Age of Islam, Time Hoppers: The Silk Road introduces young audiences to influential figures whose ideas shaped the modern world, including: Al-Khwarizmi, the father of algebra; Ibn Al-Haytham, pioneer of optics; Maryam Al-Astrolabi, groundbreaking astronomer; and Mansa Musa, renowned patron of science, education, and the arts.
Through time travel and adventure, the film invites children to see Muslim civilizations as pivotal contributors to global knowledge and innovation.
For many Muslim, Arab, South Asian, and Persian families living in the West, children often grow up without seeing themselves reflected positively—or at all—on screen.
Time Hoppers: The Silk Road was created to change that narrative. “As a minority raising four children in the West, I have seen firsthand how deeply representation—or the lack of it—shapes a child’s sense of worth,” said Flordeliza Dayrit, Director and Co-Writer. “This film is about telling our children that they matter. That their histories, cultures, and contributions belong at the center of the story—not the margins.”
The film features two African lead characters and a cast of prominent Muslim-American voices, including scholar Omar Suleiman, public intellectual Dalia Mogahed, and actor-comedian Omar Regan (Rush Hour 2, Five Thirteen). The creative team behind the film includes Muslim artists, educators, and storytellers committed to authenticity and cultural respect.
“This project represents more than a film—it represents possibility,” said Michael Milo, CEO of Milo Productions. “For the first time, Muslim families can gather in theaters nationwide and see their stories reflected with joy, dignity, and imagination.”
