As you are aware, the Rohingya people of Myanmar are facing a harrowing situation at the moment. The current regime of Myanmar has unleashed terror, the reign of destructions using oppressive forces, evicting ethnic minority from their homeland and killing them indiscriminately. A Genocide literally is in the making-to the point where complete extermination is a possibility, a systematic persecution to expunge the minority from the national narrative.
People are being killed, women are raped and tortured, villages are burnt and Rohingya are fleeing to neighbouring countries to save their lives. This is a barbarous and inhuman act by the Burmese regime to annihilate an entire minority population and we feel that it is necessary creating awareness by sharing the unbounded sufferings of Rohingya to the Canadian to save the minority nation.
To express our solidarity with the Rohingya people and to protest the ongoing genocide, we have decided to host a rally on the 22nd of October at the Vancouver Art Gallery,750 Hornby Street, Vancouver, BC V6Z 2H7 from 2.00pm to 4.00 pm. We would like to invite you to join us to support these people in their time of need and help them to save their lives. We would also appreciate it if you could share this to our brothers and sister through respected Imams of BC Muslim Associations.
Thank You,
On behalf of “Citizen Forum of BC”
