Darul Quran Institute held their much-awaited Show and Shine show after 3 years of covid shutdown on Sunday August 28th at their Institute. Through out the day hundreds of people came to socialize and support the cause. The event was well organized with lots of fun activities for kids including Popcorn, Cotton candy, BBQ chicken, Burgers, Ice cream, Miniature Train, Dunk Tank, Table tennis, Basketball, Hockey, Soccer, Vendors for shopping, Police car & goodies on display with officers And of course the Cars.
Officers from the RCMP & the Transit police were also present with information on gang violence and community programs. They had booths setup with gifts & freebies for the kids such as water bottles, key chains & wrist bands!
The attendees included Muslims and non-muslims, members of the local church, local scholars & politicians and many new faces. We prayed Dhuhr Salaah together and afterwards learned about the importance of Salah and upcoming events.
Shaykh Anees also gave a brief intro of our institute and what our students learn. The purpose of this event was to bring the community together and get them talking about their faith and Allah.
The highlight of the show was the Dunk Tank with Maulana Osama Raja, Maulana Awais, Maulana Anees and Maulana Osama Patel.
