The Vancouver Islamic Center (formerly known as Fraserview Muslim Community Services) is more than just a place of worship—it is a community hub dedicated to serving and uplifting the Muslim community. Their mission is to preserve Islamic identity, foster a thriving Muslim community, and promote a comprehensive Islamic way of life based on the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad PBUH.
VIC formerly Fraser Musallah’s Long-Term Vision
Fraser Musallah has successfully secured a long-term location for its activities and is now seeking donations to fully purchase the property at 650E 49th Ave, Vancouver, BC. Your contributions will help establish a permanent center for the growing Muslim community.
VIC History and Current Challenges
The Vancouver Islamic Center (VIC) was established in 2005 and has been serving the South Vancouver Muslim community for the past 20 years. The center facilitates daily five-time prayers, Friday congregations (two sessions), and Quran classes. However, due to space limitations, VIC is unable to accommodate women at the current location.
We have been renting this facility for the past two decades under a lease that includes a demolition clause, meaning we could be asked to vacate at any time.
The Need for a Permanent Space
With the rapid growth of the Muslim population in South Vancouver, our current space is no longer sufficient, especially on Fridays, when we are forced to hold multiple sessions and rely on other tenants' parking lots. The need for a larger, permanent center has been pressing for years.
Alhamdulillah, we have found a prime location in the heart of South Vancouver (650 East 49th Ave, Vancouver) to establish a permanent community center. We have already paid the deposit and secured the property. This new center will be an inclusive space for the entire family and will offer:
• Separate prayer halls for men and women
• Five daily prayers & Friday congregations
• Food distribution every Friday
• Quran lessons for children and adults
• Youth programs
• Senior citizen services
• Matrimonial services
• Funeral services
• New Muslim (Shahada) services
• Free Iftar and dinner during Ramadan

Successful Fundraiser Event
VIC”s first fundraiser, held on February 9, 2025, at Fraserview Hall, was a great success—Alhamdulillah! The Muslim community raised $614,627.93 towards the Vancouver Masjid project. JazakAllah Khair to everyone who attended and donated. Your continuous support and generosity is truly appreciated.
