Dear Brothers and Sisters in Islam

I regret to announce effective immediately, the termination of my participation on the board and management of the Islamic Society of British Columbia.

Since 2010, I had volunteered and assisted with the operations at ISBC, stepping into a major crisis in late 2016 when the Canadian Revenue Agency CRA, audited ISBC and found critical financial management and reporting problems which jeopardized ISBC's existence as a Canadian charity. Simultaneously Dr. Bahr was incarcerated as result of his criminal conviction.

I undertook at that time, the daunting task to redesign and implement financial and operational procedures to assure ISBC was thereby in compliance to CRA and able to continue to serve the community as a religious charitable organization.

Concurrently, I secured funding from the federal government to implement enhanced security at the masjid necessitated at all places of worship by the mass shooting in the Ste Foy Quebec mosque. Unfortunately, this work was complicated by the fact that the Masjid Al Hidaya building itself was in need of urgent repairs to the structure and its electrical and mechanical systems. This work is now complete, as are the financial controls and visibility necessary to assure integrity of the Society.

 Your brother in Islam,
 Mohammed P. Khan
